Ergobaby stretch wrap - review and giveaway!

I say Ergo, you say soft structured carrier, right?
Not any more. Ergobaby has been listening carefully to parents lately. The light, breathable Ventus model, the Ergo 360, and now an Ergobaby stretch wrap are all on the market. Why a stretch wrap, you ask?
When you look at a newborn and then a soft structured carrier the two aren't always a good match. It's really important to preserve the natural kyphosis of a newborn spine, while being supportive enough to hold baby close, mimicking an in-arms position, and keep airways clear - TICKS guidelines, remember?

A wrap doesn't need adjusting. It'll conform to the body wearing it, whether that's a newly postpartum mama, a skinny dad, a cuddly grandma or proud grandpapa. You can pre tie and pop baby in and out with minimal adjusting, and the strong stretch of 95% cotton, 5% spandex will support your body and baby's.

The Ergobaby stretch is rated from 3 to 14 kgs. On trial with a 4kg demo doll and a 9 kg demo doll, I was impressed by how secure everyone felt. The knit feels quite lush in hand and washes beautifully, nothing flimsy about this! Generously, Ergo have provided me with one to give away, so if you have a squish on the way, know someone who does, or you're planning one any... month now, hit the widget and get your entries in!

  1. I would love to win so that I can learn how to use one. And for it to grow with baby and me as I lose weight after he's born.

  4. Stretch wraps saved my sanity when my lo had colic- he could sleep upright and I could use my hands. Also the squishyness allowed me to sit and rest without anything digging in. Would love to have one to give to my sil who has a brand new bub

  6. I would love a stretchy wrap for next time as I found a structured carrier too painful for the first few months after a csection and the ergowrap looks so easy to use!

  18. I'd love to try this wrap as my baby only finds comfort being with me and I'd like to be able to get housework done while she sleeps instead of having her lay on me on the couch.

  22. I would love to try this wrap. To have the freedom with my 11 week old son wrapped close to me while I am doing chores and looking after my 2yo daughter would be priceless. The look like they are completely hands free which is much better than my Bubzilla sling

  27. I have only ever tried a SSC, but I think stretchy would be great because I can form it around my baby girl. She is 4 months old and big and strong for her age, so we have no issues in the SSC, I can only imagine all I can do with a wrap!

  30. After making the mistake of buying a Baby Bjorn with my firstborn (don't worry, we are Tula-ing now!) & never experiencing with wraps, I can't wait to get a stretchy & a woven for my little one that is due in March! With a stretchy, I can not only pre-tie & pop the baby in & out, it is also great for skin to skin! AND with the front carries, such as the front wrap cross carry, the cross passes will provide great coverage for breastfeeding, & I can also easily slip my hand in to help with latching or supporting the breast :)

  34. I am having my first baby and can't wait to start baby wearing. I was very confused when I first started researching and only knew about the baby bjorn. Now that I have seen wraps, slings, wovens and the stretchy carriers - I am very glad I looked into alternatives. I feel the stretchy wrap works best for newborns, when doing errands around the house, cooking, going for walks, even grocery shopping. I love ergobaby and the chance to win one would be wonderful.
