In a single word, this wrap is a beast. Danu slings has taken some linen, some cotton, and fashioned a wrap that, fresh out of the package, can stand up all by itself. However, linen is a tame-able beast and crunchy doesn't mean bad, just work! I put this through two wash cycles before I even tried drying it. Then I twisted it up on itself and let it sit for a couple hours. Then I beat it against the floor and twisted it the other way. Then I threw it in the car and sat in it... And THEN I tried wrapping with it.
Enigma Beaufort is an Irish linen/cotton blend, dry and crunchy in hand and with not much raise in texture. I find linen has a very "limited" feel on the shoulders - like there's no bounce and little give to the fabric. This makes for brilliantly secure wrap jobs and is great for learning to wrap precisely. Linen generally allows you to feel exactly what you tightened, and doesn't stretch or relax back. It has fantastic support and breathes nicely in warm weather.
Beaufort is still feeling thin but I expect it will relax and plump up a little more with wear. I try to buy linen second-hand (because I'm lazy!) as it wraps like a second skin when loved on. I very much like the design and the color is rich without being overpowering.
I can report that after double hammocking a trip to officeworks this is rock solid and won't slip an inch- maybe not the very easiest beginner wrap, but a great option for toddlers and bigger kids.
Please note that I have not been paid to write this review. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
I love support and style, in a wrap. What else do you need!?!
ReplyDeletei love support, texture, strength, style is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteSupport, style, cush factor! <3
ReplyDeleteI love support, softness and as a bonus pettiness
ReplyDeleteI look for an easy to manoeuvre toddler/kindy kid worthy wrap! Stiff chunky wraps are so hard to tighten and adjust (unless I'm a noob haha)
ReplyDeleteI look for support, and overall look after that! I look for a wrap i can use for my almost 3year old as well as my 3month old that will support them both and be pretty enoigh for me as well!
ReplyDeleteLove support and style! :-)
ReplyDeleteI looking forward to wrapping for the first time with my coming little one - I love the idea of a wrap that will last through toddlerhood!
ReplyDeleteSupport for a toddler, soft, easy to wrap in a hurry, and of course have to love the print/colors!
ReplyDeleteLove the support and how it has less give for my growing toddler!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the support, but the idea of breaking it in is daunting.
ReplyDeletei love the support and that its good for toddlers
ReplyDeleteI don't have a woven wrap yet, but I'd love something easy to use!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm going to use a wrap it's gatta have strength and a lot of support as my kiddo is a bigger one. I would love to try this wrap, it looks awesome!

New to this so want to try different blends. Our climate is so hot and with this linen and cotton blend hoping for coolness. Cushiness sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI like a wrap that I strong enough to support my baby but also breathable when it's hot out.
ReplyDeleteI need enough support for a wriggly toddler, fabric that stays breathable and light in hot weather and of course, a fabulous pattern / colouring! Love this one :)

Support, comfort, prettiness!
ReplyDeleteSupport
ReplyDeleteI need my wrap to be supportive. And I don't mind the breaking in, it's a challenge I can accept. And I need to love the way it looks. And I'm picky. This one I could love ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for this giveaway! I'd love to break this beauty in
ReplyDeleteI like the linen because it breezy and I live in the south of USA so it's hot and humid! So linens perfect for hear and I like stiff wraps that sticks after it's been put in place so you don't have to keep adjusting so much. :)!
ReplyDeleteLove support in a wrap
ReplyDeleteI love thinner wraps that are airy and easy to wrap with because it gets pretty hot here and we don't have A/C.
ReplyDeleteI love being a comfort to me baby hands free. Wearing him comforts us both. I love to know he's happy and a wrap makes my back happy.
ReplyDeleteI so need to add a thinner wrap to my carrier stash. I actually enjoy breaking in wraps and my kids are always up for the challenge of helping :) I love a carrier that works for my baby as well as my toddler so wraps are just the best.
ReplyDeleteI love support, but thin. I also like grippy wraps and one's that really stay in place!
ReplyDeleteI look for a colour /design I love, as well as support and comfort
ReplyDeleteI love all that there are so many different blends and brands.
ReplyDeleteI love support, texture, pettiness, and of course affordability. This wrap is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove that it sounds so strong and breathable is a must in fl! And so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI live the support and comfort most in my slings. Pattern doesn't hurt either!
ReplyDeleteI love soft thin breathable wraps. Perfect for summer days
ReplyDeleteSupport, Breathability, and SLEEPY DUST!
ReplyDeleteI look for breathable, cushy, beautiful design ♥
ReplyDeleteI have two issues - 1. I'm a beginner and 2. I usually scratch going for the beginner stuff. So most importantly, I like pretty wraps. Lame, I know. I tend to prefer thinner wraps, but I have a 7 monther, so that may change as she grows! I'm dying to try some blends - The only thing I've tried aside from 100% cotton is Repreve and nati-linen blends.
ReplyDeleteLove and always need for a wrap to be super supportive and comfortable on my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteI hope my comment posted. I don't see it :(
ReplyDeleteBut I like everything about it!
This would be my first sling ever!
I love supportive gorgeous wraps!
ReplyDeleteI love thin wraps, and not having to readjust after a single store walk through is a must! Sleepy baby doesn't want to be disturbed every time mama needs to fiddle with the wrap.
ReplyDeleteI love that it breathes good in warm weather, it would perfect for this summer.
ReplyDeleteI like wraps that won't be too hot in the summer, and they've got to look good too!
ReplyDeleteI've never had a wrap :)
ReplyDeleteComfort and support is a must for us. I am fairly new to babywearing and have yet to be able to afford a wrap!
ReplyDeleteThe qualities I look for are support and comfort for my son. I don't see the point in a wrap that doesn't have the right support or a wrap that baby doesn't feel comfortable in.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where my first comment went--I like grippy wraps, the easier, in my opinion, for tandem carrying wiggle worm twins!
ReplyDeleteLike some others, I like supportive and comfortable. Diggy and saggy has been my experience so far ith non-stretchies (cotton gauze) and I need something good so I can get my wrap love on!
ReplyDeleteI have only used cotton wraps but i love soft and supportive. if they get too diggy i get frustrated!
ReplyDeleteSupport and breathability! We live in a warm climate.
ReplyDeleteI love texture, softness and support in a wrap.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and soft, but supportive enough I can achieve a rock solid DH which will keep my toddler close enough we can dance and spin together with ease. This means I usually go for hemp, but your review has made me very linen curious for a long wrap (I've only tried a linen shortie before).
So keen to see what the new Danu slings are like!
I love that wraps are so beautiful, colorful & versatile. They are as unique as the one wearing them. I would love to own a Danu.
ReplyDeleteSounds gorgeous. I love the colour so much. Linen is always worth it when broken in
ReplyDeleteThis wrap sounds lovely. I love a thin wrap with great breathability and support. a little bounce and stretch is nice as well. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of it and would love to get a proper wrap to wear my son in. Have started wrapping recently, was using SSC before then, but I LOVE wrapping him so much more. We were living in Ireland when we found out we were pregnant with him, so love the idea of the connection there too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love breathable wraps that make me and my little one feel safe and secure. A flash of colour during the winter months too doesnt hurt :D
ReplyDeleteI like supportive wraps that are easy on my shoulders.
ReplyDeleteI love a supportive and cool wrap to keep bubs comfy in summer and I would love the challenge of brealing this wrap in =)
ReplyDeleteOoooooh' Soft n' cushy! Something we can both snuggle with! Can't wait for some cold weather here so we can spend more time cuddling in our wovens <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI love breathable material and beautiful yet simple designs B-)
ReplyDeleteMy biggest thing in a wrap is support!
ReplyDeleteLinen sounds amazing
ReplyDeleteOur first wrap hasnt arrived yet but I imagine comfort and support for our chunky baby will be a priority.
ReplyDeleteI really love this wrap for my little princess and me! It is the color we love and linen sounds awesome, always wanted to try that! Always hearing such good stories abortuswet that. We hope it will end up here where it will be treated with a lot of love :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that it breathes good in warm weather, sounds great for summer
ReplyDeleteI def like a wrap that breaths well and not too hot
ReplyDeleteI need this :) love the look of it and would love to win to wear my little miss in. xx
ReplyDeleteLove this one! So nice, so supportive, looks so soft!
ReplyDeleteUgh - lost my comment...... When I bought my first wrap new I struggled with it not feeling comfortable or "right" so I think if a wrap can still feel comfortable while being broken in that would be a great quality. Prettiness is of course a must as well :)
ReplyDeleteI love how versatile and supportive they are. This wrap is gorgeous♡
ReplyDeleteI love my wraps thick, supportive, but still breathable. I'm not afraid of putting in some work into breaking them in, but I also like them smooth and squishy <3
ReplyDeleteMy little is so bouncy! A wrap that stays put is a must.
ReplyDeleteI love that is wrap breathes in warm weather due to being a linen blend!
ReplyDeleteI love wraps that stay right where you put them. Wiggly toddlers....every time!
ReplyDeleteExtra cushy, grippy wraps are great.
ReplyDeleteI look for support as I carry a 14 month old little monster. And ofcourse I also look at the looks ;)
ReplyDeleteI am so anxious to try a wrap that is both durable and breathable as I hold my son as close as I can for as long as I can.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try a wrap that is supportive like this one sounds like it is. I am brand new to wrapping and trying it since my toddler is getting too heavy to carry comfortably in the carriers I already have.
ReplyDeleteAlessandra Peterson (on RC)
I like a wrap with a little diagonal stretch, and it has to be pretty! I carry a toddler, so it has to be supportive as well :)
ReplyDeleteI like a wrap that is durable and strong for my heavy toddler. I like softness of it as well, and how pretty it may be!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try a more breathable wrap for an older child.
ReplyDeleteI love the rock solid support linen has to offer!
ReplyDeleteI love moldability and texture
ReplyDeleteI have never even tried a wrap and so I don't know what qualities I like. Would love to win this though, much more supportive than my hug a bub.
ReplyDeleteI have only ever used my SSC, so I like that this wrap is great for a very secure wrap job. That way I don't feel like my kiddo isn't safe while I try to prefect a wrap. :) I have a toddler as well as an infant so it would also be great to have for learning.
ReplyDeleteStyle and durability !
ReplyDeleteI love support and obviously finding it pretty is important. - Brittani Balentine
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love support and Cush along with colour and patten
ReplyDeleteI love the time it takes breaking in a wrap. Its a bonding experience! Coaxing the fluffy and cush out, getting to know one another. When it finally breaks in and feels great, there is a satisfaction of having earned it and like it was made just for me! :)
ReplyDeletei would love a wrap like this. the support and softness it offers sounds great
ReplyDeleteMust wear all the babies! I would love to try wrapping with linen!
ReplyDeleteI love the flexibility in carries And the ability to adjust how tight your little one is
ReplyDeleteBreaking in the wrap is quie a lot of work, so I like the wraps which are easy to break in.
ReplyDeleteI like wraps that are supportive enough for a toddler yet still soft and cushy. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that it's not just a wrap... they are a blanket, a portable highchair and mainly something my child can count on
ReplyDeleteas for now I think that good texture and a fabric that you trust is the most important. and the style... I just love it <3
ReplyDeleteRight now that it's summer I like wraps that aren't too hot. What is also important to me is a wrap that doesn't slip. I'm new to baby wearing and learning back carries so it staying in put is important to me.
ReplyDeleteSince I live in Texas, being able to keep baby cool is a must have. Even not in a wrap, most days we have to travel with little one just in his cloth diapers.
ReplyDeleteI like a good supportive but light and airy wrap. With a newborn and a toddler, someone is always up!
ReplyDeleteI like a supportive and moldable wrap. I also like breaking a wrap in. Breaking in my Storch was fun, so a stiff wrap is a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit it, I'm shallow--I like wraps that are pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love that it's not stretchy and is very supportive!
ReplyDeleteI love linen in general; my skin just craves a linen-y feel. I would love a wrap that could support a larger child, since I'm now at the point where my youngest and last baby is almost 2 & quite a hefty guy. <3
ReplyDeleteI love wrap that has good fabric quality, because i want my baby in cozy and safe carrier. that has a "cool" fabric because I live in tropical country Indonesia with quite hot weather. I like wrap that has eye-catchy colors, I like to have people eyes on my carrier.
ReplyDeleteI like a smoother texture, good diagonal stretch and not too grippy but I'm still a relative beginner. Most people I know who like grip are expert wrappers.
ReplyDeletei have super picky shoulders so i need my wraps to be cushy
ReplyDeleteLove soft, but still supportive wraps :-)
ReplyDeleteI love support as my daughter is a heavy weight.
ReplyDeleteWraps that stay put :)
ReplyDeleteAn ideal combination of support and thinness. I'm wrapping twins these days and it's the dog days of summer. I need these babies to stay put but not give me heart stroke!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have some air movement with this - beautiful print too!
ReplyDeleteLove wraps that can breathe in the hot summer heat!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving wraps that are thin but soft and supportive.
